Tech Notes: This 1983 Fender American Standard Stratocaster marked a transitional period for Fender, with the company reintroducing the American Standard line in the early 1980s under marketing director Dan Smith. The first version of the American Standard featured a return to the smaller pre-CBS style headstock, and this v2 version (produced from 1983-85) features a unique control layout with one tone and a pickguard-mounted input jack. It also features the rare Schaller top-loader vibrato bridge. The neck has a 12" radius and a slim, D shape profile. This example is in near mint condition.
