About This Guitar

This 1939 Gibson J-35 features a spruce top, mahogany back and sides, and a Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. It’s a loud, well-balanced guitar with strong low end and a clear, musical brightness. The chunky V-shaped neck has been worn smooth down to the mahogany, offering a comfortable, broken-in feel. Original firestripe pickguard and replaced tuners (originals included).

It has had a bridge reglue and three professionally repaired cracks: one near the pickguard edge, one on the lower side rim, and one on the back. A great-sounding vintage instrument with the tone and character that define pre-war Gibson acoustics.
